Päivi, founder and product manufacturer of Sydänlangat, lives with her family in Uusiakaupunki in an idyllic environment, right by the sea. Nature and changing seasons have always been important to Päivi, and she relaxes every day, for example, by walking in the forest, boating and tinkering in the yard.
While wandering in the nature, Päivi has also noticed negative changes in the environment, such as the eutrophication of waterways. This has raised the entrepreneur's concern for the future of our ecosystem and the desire to make a difference so that future generations can also enjoy clean, green nature.
In addition to nature, Päivi, who has worked as a nurse for a long time, cherishes health. In Sydänlangat she combines sharing the good by putting the environment and health first.
From everyday life to business
The seed of Sydänlankangat began to sprout years ago from Päivi's own everyday life. Until then, Päivi was used to maintaining her home with a large arsenal of cleaning products, the exact contents of which she was not entirely clear. Päivi started to search for more natural alternatives to strongly smelling chemicals.
Päivi started to familiarize herself with the subject of natural cleaning, gathered the necessary ingredients and made the first Toilet bomb, which turned out to work. The next step in development was laundry vinegar, later laundry detergent, and successful experiments became her everyday cleaning products. Päivi's friends also fell in love with the products and that's how the spark to start the company was ignited.
The name of the company was inspired by Päivi's crafting hobby, and the recurring theme of which was hearts and threads. ("Sydänlangat" translates literally "Heart threads" and it means candlewick yarn in Finnish.)
The results of a long development process are now the core products of Sydänlanka. The brands aim is to create effective products with minimal ingredient list that are safe for people and the environment.
